President's Message
September 2008
I hope that everyone had an enjoyable summer. It's hard to believe that summer is winding down and fall will soon be here. That means it's time for the APICS schedule to start up again. We have a wide variety of programs and educational opportunities planned for this year. There should be something to appeal to every member. Our regular schedule of eight Professional Development Meetings (PDMs) is coming together. The speakers will cover a wide variety of topics, some which we have not covered in the past. One of the PDMs will be a joint meeting with our neighboring chapter, PAN-APICS at Congress for Progress in Philadelphia. Tours are also planned as well as a couple of seminars that will be presented by our friends at Supply Chain Consultants. There will be many opportunities to learn more about what's going on in the world of operations and supply chain and earn recertification points.
Speaking of certifications, CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) review courses will again be offered. We are going to try something new with the CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) courses. The new arrangement will allow us to run classes with fewer participants and the location is more central to the chapter area. Details are located here.
As always, we appreciate your feedback and suggestions on what you would like to see. Please feel free to contact any Board member with questions, concerns and suggestions. We hope to see you all at the first Professional Development Meeting on Tuesday, September 9.
